‘‘Prohibition” at the
church last flight. He maintained
..that ns disease is contagious and in
fectious it) the physical world, so is
vice in the moral world. The great
evil of intemperance is making fear
ful headway. Prohibition, continued
£he preacher, is the true and only
remedy.He favored a law that should
submit to the people of each county
the question of prohibition or no
prohibition. He contended that pro
hibition does not injure trade; that
brain is the life of commerce,and in
temperance, which ruins brain nnd
body, is the enemy of commerce;
temperance is its friend. The mon
ey spent for whisky would be invest
ed in clothing, in food, in articles ol
