three gallons of water followed the
tapping, und the hog diminished in

I wrote that letter upon the spur
of the moment after having read the
“special,” from Sparta in the Consti
tution of the 4th inst., and after hav
ing heard it rumored on our streets,
that Hancock county would not sup
port Mr. I'ringle, whom I have the
honor of numbering as one of my
warmest friends, and who is consid
ered among the people of our

lution as copied in the Herald if- Geor
gian this week, ere I penned my
letter to the Constitution, it would
have been left unwritten.
Having at nil times entertained
the highest regard for the people of
your county, many of whom have

in the army of N. Vu., I cheerfully
make this, what I intend it to be,
“an amende honorable.”
