There is in Lineon county a girl
cloven years old who tips the beam
at about 120 pounds avoirdupois.
It is reported that Tom Tipton,
who was killed by his accomplice,
Joe M."Weaver, in the attempt to
assassinate old man Joe l’erry some
time ago, made his appearance to
his wife and chihhoo one day last
week. The family followed him all
around the premises and through
the neighborhood, there is great
excitement in the neighborhood
over the dead man’s return.—Dul>

JFrom Demor cat's Monthly Maga:ine.
Surely we have reasons to felicitate
cartelves as a nation. Ours is the
only country on earth which is rap
idly paying ofl'its national debt, and
whose surplus is a constant source
of embarresment. Every other civ
ilized nation has a yearly delleil; it
spends more than it receives. Dor-
many alone is somewhat better situ
ated, for it owns its great lines of
railways, and lias other assets which
if sold, would bring more than .ts
national debt. The extraordinary
advantages we have over other na
