Ga. ORDINANCE NUMBER 57. An Ordinance to Prohibit tiie Playing of Musical Instruments, Dancing and Singing in the Bar llooms of this City, and for Other Purposes. Be it Ordained by the City Council of Fitzgerald, Ga. Section 1. That from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for the owner or keeper of any bar room or saloon in this city to permit any dancing, singing or the playing of any musical instruments of any kind in said saloon or bar room. Site. 2. Any owner or keeper of any saloon or bar room in tliis city, of any employee who shall permit any violation of the foregoing section shall he punished by a fine of not more than $25 and costs of prosecution, or not to exceed ten (10) days’ imprisonment in city jail, or by botli such fine and im¬ prisonment as the recorder may direct. Sec. 3. Any person who shall sing, dance or play upon any musical instru¬ ment in any barroom in this city shall be fined not more than $5 and costs for each offense. Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and first publication in the official paper: First reading Nov. 1, 1897. Second reading Nov. 8, 1897. Passed Nov. S, 1897. Pear¬ son and J- Evans respectfully desire shows: them¬ First—That petitioners to form selves and such other persons as may be as¬ sociated with them, into a private corpora¬ tion under the corporate name and style of Fitzgerald Lumber Company. Second—That the object of their association i3 pecuniary gain, and the business they pro¬ pose to carry on is as follows: To operate a steam saw mill in the manufacture of all classes of lumber, shingles, laths, staves arid all other building material; to lease, buy and sell all kind of lumber, to load and ship the same. Third—To build and operate a naval store factory or turpentine distillery, for the pur¬ pose of manufacturing naval stores; to lease, box, chip, hack and dip all sizes and classes therein, oi pine timber for the crude turpentine to buy and sell crude and manufactured rosin and turpentine. mill sheds, Fourth—To build and turpentine stores, warehouses, platforms, landings, shops, barns, stables, log-way, tram railway and equip same, and to use and run locomo¬ tives on same, and to operate all kinds of ma¬ chinery necessary to carry on said business. Wherefore petitioners he prays that they and their associates incorporated with the rights, powers, privileges, the etc., for the term of twenty years under name aforesaid with the privilege of renewal at the expiration of that time.
