There an old mouse and two little ones the plate of the house, and—well, you had better ask Mrs. Sams what pened. If she don’t tell, just step side and ask A. L. ,Jo Dandy. Why is there a difference made be¬ tween fallen boys and girls? Let a girl fall, and she is scoffed, kicked and shunned, and forever shut out, and her soul is lost, while her own sex will extend an open hand and a forgiving heart to the fallen mail, but the girl lias no sympathy; she is a homeless outcast. Let a boy fall and all hands are stretched out to receive him; all hearts are bleeding forhisredemption, he is some ones darling boy. That is right, save him if you can. But why not try to save the girl and bring her back to right and rectitude? She is the weaker of the two. Why not stretch out your arms, draw her close to your heart? Her mother is sheding tears for her; her sister’s heart is bleeding. She is somebody’s darling as well as the boy. Why do women spurn their own sex when one happens to fall, and at the same time take the man who brought the disgrace upon her by the hand and try to redeem him? There is an unsolved mystery, and if a lady can explain how the female race has such antipathy for outcasts of her own sex, when a naan is, in all probability, the cause of the downfall, we would like to hear it.
