Miss Pa.ulin.e Welch
Leaves for Waycross
The sad and rather gloomy look
that overshadows the countenance
of several of Fitzgerald’s dashing
young gallants might be attribut¬
ed to the fact that pretty Miss
Pauline Welch, who played at the
Family Theatre last week, and
over whom the aforesaid several
young men most undoubtedly lost
their hearts, took her departure
Sunday for Waycross. The boys,
though, still seem to be under the
inlluence of her ‘‘shaky eyes” that
just won’t behave, for it is
whispered that one or two of them
went all the way to Waycross this
week to see her appear again be¬
fore the footlights.
Miss Welch was, indeed, one of
the most highly cultured, attrac¬
tive and most vivacious stage
artists, who has ever played Fitz¬
gerald, and aside from her profi¬
ciency as an actress, her many
personal charms, made her quite
popular.
Just sixteen (and her mother
says she has never yet been kissed)
with a wealth of flaxen locks, to
say nothing of her interesting eyes
and neat figure, Miss Welch won
a number of admirers while here.
Her work, too, as character im¬
personator, singing and dancing
artiste is the most classy that has
been presented to a Fitzgerald
audience in some time. She is a
born actress, and has a brilliant
future before her in that line.
But the boys—they all seem to
to be broken hearted, and will not
be satisfied until Miss Welch
promises to favor Fitzgerald with
another visit in the not far distant
future.
Mr. G. H. Williams, who for
some time has been working in
Ashburn, has this week been in
the employ of the Bowen Telephone
Company of this city, assisting in
repairing the wires that were
damaged by the tire on Monday.
