This is pretty warm weather for
hustling, but the various candi¬
dates are at it, and each one says
he will get there.
Each member of our lire de¬
partment is to be lauded for his
heroic efforts in lighting the dis¬
astrous lire Monday. None could
have ddne better.

Hight you are.
The refreshing rains that have
fallen all over this section of the
state are most opportune, and will
not only bring up the seed already
in the ground, but enable the
farmers to finish planting, and
they are taking advantage of it.
There are now more than 500
State banks in Georgia and all the
counties of the State except four—
Camden. Dade, Dawson and Echols
—have banks of their own. The
report of Assistant State Treasurer
Hen F. Perry shows that the banks
of the state are in a very prosper¬
ous condition.
The real estate agents in every
town in this section of the state
say there never has been so great
activity in real estate, and that not
only small but big deals are being
made every day. If you would
make money fast and sure invest
in South Georgia lands, and the
increase in value will make you
rich in a few years.
The beauty of the American
system of tariff is best illustrated
with the simple statement that
good old fashioned American
bacon, made from American hogs,
which sells for 23 cents per pound
in this country can be purchased
in Canada and England for 17
cents. Let that revolve through
your head for a moment and then
think it out—Brunswick News.
The entire fraternity of the
state sincerely sympathize with
Col. J. E. Mercer in the loss of
his new and splendid newspaper
outfit. Mr. Mercer had just in¬
stalled same, and his paper, the
Enterprise, was flourishing, as a
green bey tree, when lire came
along and destroyed it completely.
The tire will not interfere with the
regular appearance of the Enter¬
prise, aud as soon as possible Mr.
Mercer will have a new outfit in
position, and be as well prepared
for business as ever.

Air Dome Presents
Good Vaudeville Bill
Shannon and Moran, the Irish
Kleptomaniacs, and MissKathrvne
Martin, who have been doing the
special feature work at the Air
Dome since Thursday, have scored
quite a hit with the patrons of the
house and indeed have “made up”
for the inefficiency of the bill
played during the forepart of the
week, which the managers of the
Air Dome acknowledge did not
measure up to what they had ex¬
pected. Hut the acts that are
ing played by the present trio can¬
not be criticized in any particular
whatever, and have drawn large
crowds every night since their
opening bill.
Shannon and Moran are among
the best comedians on the road,
and the many novelty acts they
“pull off” win for them applause
everywhere. Miss Martin, too, is
most clever in her line, possessing
a sweet soprano voice, and she has
become a great favorite
those who attend the Air Dome.
