Government Will Help
• • Dries” Pot The
“Blind Tiger”
The government, through the
internal revenue department, is
going to help Georgia and other
dry states enforce prohibition. It
is probobly going to do thi> in
voluntarily. It has already start¬
ed about it.
Directions from the department
at Washington have been received
in Atlanta by Internal Revenue
Collector Kucker that full informa¬
tion must be given him by everyone
who pays revenue license. This
information will be put where any
state officer can see it. Similar
directions have been sent to all
revenue collectors.
The result will be that everyone
who gets a revenue license can be
known to the state officers.
There are a good many '“blind
tigers" now that pay revenue
license to the government and
dodge the state. They are afraid
of the government officials and
willing to take a chance with the
state officers.
Hereafter the man who gets a
revenue license must, within a
month, fill outa government blank,
known as form if. in which he will
give his name and his business.
This information will then be
put on a record, known as Record
10. which is open to everyone.
An order was issued by the
revenue deportment in November,
which said:
“For failure to make the return
within the time prescribed the
commissioner of internal revenue
is required by law to assess a
penalty of 50 per cent of the
amount of the tax/'

short while Fitzgerald will have a
station of which she can be justly
proud, and one, the equal of which,
is found in very few cities twice
the size of this place.
The new depot has been under
course of construction, for several
months, and under the able man¬
agement of the J. B. Carr Com¬
pany, of Atlanta, the work has
progressed at a lively clip and is a
very high order of workmanship.
Concrete stone is the material
used in the construction of the
building, which is two stories high,
and is indeed a most imposing
structure. It comprises two large
waiting rooms, well equipped with
all modern conveniences, a spacious
dining room and lunch counter, a
roomy ticket office, and comraod-
ions baggage, rooms—all these on
the first floor: and on the second
floor will be the offices of the
Superintendent and his corps of
sissistants.
In the construction of this
beautiful depot, the Atlanta. Birm¬
ingham and Atlantic has expended
$30,000. and the admirable man¬
ner in which they have fiuished
and appointed it is the source of
much gratification on the part of
our citizens.
The offices of the company will
be moved into the new building
about the 15th of this month, at
which time the passenger trains
will also begin pulling in there.
