The Blue and Gray Association
met Wednesday, May 4th, at the
Blue and Gray Park, this being
their regular monthly meeting.
In the absence of President Mat¬
thews, comrade Thyer presided.
' After the roll call of officers,
the minutes of the previous meet¬
ing were read and approved.
Comrade McCormicks report
showed that there were outstanding
bills for lumber that had been
purchased, and Comrade Mull
maved that the amount of funds
on hand be applied on this bill.
The motion was seconded by Com¬
rade Moore and on vote prevailed.
The motion by Comrade Mc¬
Cormick that this association pur¬
chase lots in the cemetery, on
which to bury its members who
die. leaving no family, was second¬
ed by Uncle .Jake Schroll aid
Comrade Clements, and on vote
was passed.
Comrade Mull moved that a
committee of three tie appointed
to solicit subscriptions with which
to buy these lots, and'the following
committee was accordingly ap¬
pointed, viz: Comrades Mull,
chairman, M vers and McCormick.
A resolution was passed provid¬
ing that we. the Blue and Gray
Association, denounce the way
our Comrade Littlefield was bur¬
ied that this association was and
is organized to unite the boys that
wore the blue and the gray in the
Sixties, and that we can go hand
in hand and that we are united
never again to be severed, and
never more to take up arms
against e-ch other—that we are
one country and one people and
that our country’s emblem is hon¬
ored by all nations.
The motion by Comrade Mc¬
Cormick that there be a basket
picnic on these grounds on duly
4th, was passed. A motion that
the park committee also be the
committee on arrangements was
passed.
It was moved by Comrade Clem¬
ents that acopy of these minutes
be given to the Loader for publi¬
cation. Motion passed.
Weddesday Meeting adjourned till first

In an auto accident last week,
Mr. T. M. Griflin was pitched head
foremost out of the machine, land¬
ing on a stone coping and bruising
his face in several places.
The residence of Mr. J. A. .Jus¬
tice at the corner of Lee and Or
ange streets has been removed from
the above mentioned location and
Mr. Justice will have a hand¬
some residence erected on the va¬
cant lot.
Mr. E. L. Hanes spent Sunday
and Monday in Atlanta with Mrs.
Hanes, who is slowly recovering
from her serious operation of four
months ago, and it is hoped, she
will soon be able to come to Fitz¬
gerald to make her home.

wili be of much interest toftr-the
man} 1, friends of Mrs. Bryan who
is pleasantly remembered in this
city as Miss Ivey:
“A marriage that is of interest to
itjrge number of people occurred
Saturday evening at the home of
Rev. J. G. Venable, pastor of the
Moultrie Presbyterian church, the
parties being Miss Lydia Mae
Ivey a d Mr. Edward Rushin
Bryar. Their marriage had been
planned to occur Sunday in Fit/.-
gerald,at the home of mother of the
bride, but for some reason they
saw fit to change the date and
scene, and having the ceremony
performed first, they took the
train and paid a visit to Mrs. Ivey
at Fitzgerald as Mr. and Mrs. E.
R. Bryan.
They returned to Moultrie last
night and will be at home with Mr.
and Mrs. W. C. Allen.
Mr. B ryan holds a position with
the A. B. a A. as cashier, and is a
Moultrie raised young man who is
highly esteemed by all who
him.
