favors were given the little guests
and these when opened disclosed
bright colored caps and bonnets

FAREWELL RECEPTION TO MEMBERS
OF 8T. MATTHEWS EPISCOPAL
CHURCH
The members of St. Mathews
Episcopal church and their
ates in the church, met by com-
mon accord, at the re^dence of
Mr. Willis L. Smith on West
Central Ave.. on Wednesday
evening of last week, to pay their
respects and formal adieux to the
departing members.- Mr. and Mis.
J. G. Knapp, and their son I>on-
ald, and the Mesdames Bernard
S. Johnson and A. X. Davis and
John D. Adams.
Mrs. Knapp lias, -ince the earli>t
days ot the church in Fitzgerald,
been a force in the upbuilding of
the church and has been a capable,
faithful and untiring worker in
any and all branches. Mr. Knapp
was confirmed here and has served
actively on the Vestry since he
united with the church and has
done much toward the plans, ways
and means for the new church
which is soon to be erected.
Their son Don, though only recent¬
ly confirmed, has since his earliest
childhood, done a full share of a
young church-man’s work.
Mrs. John D. Adams, who as
Miss Crissie Finical, was one of
the early members of the church,
has ever taken a lively interest in
the church and helped in its up¬
building.
While Mrs. Johnson and Mrs.
Davis are late acquisitions to the
church, they have aided in the
regular work, but more especial¬
ly in the choir duties, where they
have been faithful attendants.
Mrs. Johnson has sn unusually
sweet soprano voice and, as a
choir leader, added much to the
music.
That all of these will be missed
was attested by the expression of
regret heard on every hand among
the fifty or more guests gathered
to spend the last social evening
with them.
As no regular plan for entertain¬
ment had been made, the guests

Soon it appeared that charades

ducted as to develope much indi
viduality of thought, was the most
popular game—so much so that
the participants, were loath to

ing of delicious ice cream and
cake were served.
By request of Mr. Knapp, the
guests left their autographs which
will serve as mementoes of the oe-
