Mrs. Thos. W. Stokes departed
several days ago for a visit of
several weeks to friends and rela¬
tives in Macon and Perry.
Mrs. Aldine Pound, of Way-
cross. and Mrs. Tom Price, of
Douglas, have returned to their
homes, after a pleasant visit to
Mrs. G- C. Smith.
Miss Nellie Ward, the guest of
her sister, Mrs. Jesse Grantham,
on south Main street, will leave

funeral of Mrs. Glover Deyo,
Mrs. Helen Deyo is the mother <>f
Mr. Glover Deyo and in future
will make her home here. Mrs.
A. E. Deyo and daughters will
leave soon for Atlanta to join Mr.
Deyo who lias accepted a position
there.

The younger society set of this
city enjoyed a delightful party at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley
Whitley Wednesday evening,
which was given in honor of the
seventeenth birthday anniversary
of their attractive daughter,
Miss Minnie Lee, Whitley.
The evening was parsed in de-
lightful conversation, besides
different games that were indulged
in, and an added feature of
program which was highly
ng to the guests was the

Miss Whitley was assisted in
entertaining the guests by her
charming aunt, Mrs. Arthur
Eugene Williams, and through the
gracious hospitality extended,
made tho evening one of rare en¬
joyment to all present.
The popularity of the young
honoree. Miss Whitley, was
attested by the numerous and
beautiful gifts that were received.
Miss Whitley was attired in a
frock of old rose silk with cream
lace trimmings and was the picture
of girlish beauty. \*hiie Mrs. Wil-
Ham's gown was a delicate hue of
light 'due albatross with persian
trimmings.

Mrs. VV. L. Shallenberger was
hostess Thursday evening at a
very delightful entertainment at
her home on Roanoke Drive, given
in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Lackey,
who arrived Wednesday night to
be the guests of Mis. Shallen¬
berger and her daughter, Mrs.
Maldoon.
Invited to meet Mr. and Mrs.
Lackey were a number of the first
members of the A. T. O. class of
the Christian Church, their wives
and a few intimate friends.
Mrs. Shallenberger, in her
characteristic gracious manner,
dispensed a charming hospitality,
and the occasion was made one of
thorough enjoyment to all present.
The refreshments consisted of a
delicious ice course,

A brilliant affair of the week
was the annual reception of the
Woman’s Club, which was held
Wednesday evening at the home
of the ex-president, Mrs. J. E.
Mercer.
The parlors were beautifully
decorated for the occasion, being
lighted with myriads of candles,
shaded with white and green,
thereby carrying out the Club
colors.
The guests as they arrived were
received at the door by Mrs. R.
E. Lee ann Mrs. Jas. L. McCarty,
and in the receiving line in the
parlor were the president of the
Club, Mrs. J. B. Wall, Col. Wall,
and Mr. and Mrs. Mercer.
Throughout the evening deli¬
cious punch was dispensed by Mrs.
Chesleigh Hoitzendorf and Mrs.
Julian Peacock, and at the coffee
table, Mrs. Tom Griffin and Mrs.
G. P. Mingledorf presided very
gracefully.
An interesting program, as
arranged by the entertainment
committee, was rendered and in¬
cluded musical selections and reci-
tat ions. Those taking part in the
musical feature of the program
were Prof. Henry Stewart and
Mrs. D. B. \\ are at the piano, Mr.
A. 11. Thurmond, cornet, and Mr.
George Ricker, violin, and vocal
selections were rendered by Mrs.
Daisy Brabham, Miss Rhea
Miss Hazel Young and Miss
Lobingier. Recitations were
livered by Mrs, W. 11. Rogers

To the Superior Court of said
County:
The petition of Mrs. Sallie
nen, of Baldwin county, Georgia,
and Ike Levin and J. B. Wall,
Ben Hill county, Georgia, respect-
fully shows: desire
First. That they for
themselves, their associates and
successors to be incorporated and
made a body politic under the
name and style of Lee-Grant Ho-
tel Company for a period of twen-
ty years.
Second. The principal office of
said company shall be in the City
of Fitzgerald, said state and
countv.
Third. The object of said in-
corporation is pecuniary gain to
itself and shareholders.
Fourth. The business to be
carried on by said corporation is
the business of running a public
hotel for the accommodation of
the traveling public, and the fur-
nishing of board and lodging to
persons and societies: and to
carry on such business as is usual
and customarv to carry on in the
conduct of a first-class hotel.
Fifth. The capital stock of
said corporation shall be $1,000.00
with the privilege of increasing
the same to$10,000.00, said stock
to be divided into shares of
$100.00 each, 10 per cent, of the
amount of the capital stock so
employed by them has actually
been paid in.
Sixth. Petitioners desire the
j right to sue and be sued; to plead
and be impleaded; to have and use
! a common seal, to make all neces-
sary by-laws and regulations, and
to do all other things that may
be necessary for the successful
I carrying on of said business, in-
eluding the right to buy, hold,
; lease and sub-lease real estate
! and personal property suitable to
: the purposes of the corporation;
I to execute notes and bonds as
evidence of indebtedness incur-
the same by any form or lien per-
missibie under existing laws.
Seventh. They desire for said
corporation the power and au-

amendments to its charter either

ity vote of its stockholders out¬
