Bishop’s Lecture
A Rare Tresext
The Literary lovers of the city
had a rare treat last evening when
Bishop Thomas C. Carter I). 1).,
of Tennessee delivered his popular
and instructive lecture, “Ameri-
canism of the South” at the Odd
Fellows Hall. Bishop Carter is one
of those men who has the rare
ability of holding his hearers in
rapt attention, and, he, in a con¬
cise, clear and somewhat humor¬
ous style proved to us what ‘‘True
Americanism is to the South and
w hat the South has and is doing
for her country. Quite a large
' crowd enjoyed Bishop Carter’s
Lecture, and a neat sum was tea!
ized for the HRh School Library.
