Resolution Providing For
the Extension of the
St. Marys & Kings -
land Railroad.
the I, Leon A. Wilson, Secretary of
St. Marys & Kingsland Rail¬
road Company, do hereby certify
that at a meeting of the Board of
Directors of said Company, duly
held on the 16th day of Decem¬
ber, 1910, pursuant to due notice
thereof, the following resolution
was unanimously adopted, to-wit:
Whereas, It is deemed essential
to the more successful conduct
and operation of the business and
affairs of this corporation,
that its railroad be extended from
the city of Waycross, in Ware
county, Georgia, in a Northwest¬
erly direction through the coun¬
ties of Ware, Coffee, Ben Hill and
Wilcox to the city of Abbeville,
in the county of Wilcox, said
State;
Therefore, It is hereby resolv¬
ed by the Board of Directors of
this Company, that its railroad
be extended from the city of
Waycross, in Ware county, Geor¬
gia, in a northwesterly direction
through the counties of Ware,
Coffee, Ben Hill and Wilcox, in
said State, to the city of Abbe¬
ville, in Wilcox county, Georgia,
a distance of about eighty miles.
Be it Further Resolved, That
this resolution be entered on the
records of the proceedings of this
Company and advertised in all
the counties through which said
proposed extension will run, as
provided by law, and that a cer¬
tified copy of this resolution and
advertisement be filed in the office
of the Secretary of State in order
that this corporation may be duly
authorized and empowered to
make such extension in accord¬
ance with the statute in such
cases made and provided

To the Superior Court of said
County:
The petition of C. G. Sandlin, S.
C. Littlefield and J. T. Tayior, all
of Fitzgerald, Ben Hill county,
Georgia, respectfully shows:
1 . That they desire for them¬
selves, their associates and suc¬
cessors to be incorporated and
made a body politic under the
name and style of Sandlin Fur¬
niture and Undertaking Company
for the period principal of twenty years. of
2. The business
said Company shall be in the City
of Fitzgerald, state and county desire
aforesaid; but petitioners branch offices
the right to establish
within the State whenever the
holders of a majority of the stock
may so determine.
3. The object of said corpora¬
tion is pecuniary gain to itself and
stockholders. The business to be
carried on by said corporation is a
general furniture, undertaking and
embalmers business; to buy and
sell coffins and furniture, and also
to manufacture furniture and cof¬
fins, and to do a general furniture
undertakers and embalmers busi¬
ness. The capital stock of said
corporation shall be $25,000, with
the privilege of increasing the
sum to $50,000 by a majon divi¬ v of
stockholders, said stock to he

The petition of Mrs. Saliie Bran-
nen, of Baldwin county, Georgia/
and Ike Levin and J. B. Wall, of
Ben Hill county, Georgia, respect¬
fully shows:
First. That they desire for
themselves, their associates and
successors to be incorporated and
made a body politic under the
name and style of Lee-Grant Ho¬
tel Company for a period of twen¬
ty years.
Second. The principal office of
said company shall be in the City
of Fitzgerald, said state and
county.
Third. The object of said in¬
corporation is pecuniary gain to
itself and shareholders.
Fourth. The business to be
carried on by said corporation is
the business of running a public
hotel for the accommodation of
the traveling public, and the fur¬
nishing of board and lodging to
persons and societies: and to
carry on such business as is usual
and customary to carry on in the
conduct of a first-class hotel.
Fifth. The capital stock of
said corporation shall be $ 1 , 000.00
with the privilege of increasing
the same to $ 10 , 000 . 00 , said stock
to be divided into shares of
$ 100.00 each, 10 per cent, of the
amount of the capital stock so
employed by them has actually
been paid in.
Sixth. Petitioners desire the
right to sue and be sued; to plead
and be impleaded; to have and use
a common seal; to make all neces¬
sary by-laws and regulations, and
to do all other things that may
be necessary for the successful
carrying on of said business, in¬
cluding the right to buy, hold,
lease and sub-lease real estate
and personal property suitable to
the purposes of the corporation;
to execute notes and bonds as
evidence of indebtedness incur¬
red in the conduct of the affairs
of the corporation, and to secure
the same by any form or lien per¬
missible under existing laws.
Seventh. They desire for said
corporation the power and au¬
thority to apply for and accept
amendments to its charter either
in form or substance by a major¬
ity vote of its stockholders out¬
standing at the time.
Eighth. They desire for said
corporation the right of renewal
when and as provided by the
laws of Georgia, and that it have
such other rights, powers, privil¬
eges and immunities as are inci¬
dent to like incorporations, or
permissible under the laws of
Georgia.
Therefore petitioners pray to be
incorporated under the name and
style aforesaid, with the powers,
privileges and immunities herein
set forth, and as are now,
or may be hereafter allowed a
corporation of similar character
under the laws of Georgia.

Under and by virtue of a pow¬
er ot sale contained in a mort¬
gage executed by W. J. Lewis to
J. Ii. L orminy on the 24th day of
September, 1907, and recorded in
the office of the Clerk of the Su¬
perior Court of Ben Hill County,
in Book one ( 1 ). Folio 317, the
undersigned will sell, at public
sale, at the court house in said
county, during the legal hours of
sale, to the highest bidder for
cash, on the 18th day of Febru¬
ary, 1911, the following property,
towit: All those certain tracts or
parcels of land lying and being in
the county of Ben Hill, said state,
as follows, to-wit: 100 acres of
land, more or less, of lot No. 194,
in the 4th district of said county,
bounded as follows: Beginning
at southeast corner; thence north
original line to first branch;
thence down said branch to the
middle line; thence south middle
line to original line; thence east
to starting point. Also ninety
acres of lot of land No. 172, in
the fourth district of said county,
bounded as follows: Beginning at
southwest corner; thence east to
an agreed line between H. M.
Peacock and R. M. Peacock;
thence up said agreed line far
enough to make ninety acres;
thence west to original line;
thence back to starting point. The
said sale will be made by the un¬
dersigned for the purpose of pay¬
ing a promissory note, to secure
which the said mortgage and
power of sale was given, which
said note bears even date with
said mortgage, is for the princi¬
pal sum of $700.00, matured Oct.
1st, 1908, specifying for interest
at 8 per cent, per annum from
date, with all costs of collection,
including 10 per cent, attorneys
fees, which said note is credited
with a payment of $368.50, on
October 1st, 1908, and with the
exception of said credit the whole
of said note and interest is now
due. Said mortgage creates a
lien on property above described,
and itself embodies the power of
sale, authorizing the undersigned
to make said sale, and the said
mortgage and note were both
signed by W. J. Lewis.
A conveyance will be executed
to the purchaser by the under¬
signed, as authorized in the said
mortgage.
