Forts of Gorizia Give Away to Attack
Rome, November, 24.—The Austrian forces are reported to
have evacuated the towns of Rovereto and Mori, in the Tyrol dis
trict, which formed the southeastern defense of Trent.
The Italian forces have carried the Austrian positions on the
right bank of the Isonzo river, between Can Valentine, and
Podgora, capturing forts Nos. 67 and 73, which defend the
Podgora bridge-head, one of the approches to Gorizia.
Forts Nos. 44 and 89, two of the strongest defenses of Gorizia,
were destroyed. :
Teuton Allies Take More Servian Towns
Paris, November 25.—The Servian Government has been
moved to Scutari, Albania.
The Germans have captured t*; town of Pristine, Servia.
Mitrovitza which has been the Servian capital for the past few
weeks, has been captured by the Bulgarian forces.

that the Bulgarian forces had defeated the French troops on the
Certina river, and are driving them back towards the Greek

known comedian and dramatic
director and his wife, better knowr.
theatrically as Miss Mabel Gypzene
came to Fitzgerald a few days ago
to arrange for a big production of
‘A Man From Mars” under the
auspices of the Womans Club to
be given at the Grand in the near
future—the play is something out
of the usual and could easily be
classed as a mysterious spactacle—
at any rate it is a wonderful play
full of action and powerful climaxes
a play that is intensely dramatic
and. most absorbing interesting
from the moment the curtain goes
up in the first act nntil the final
climax, It shows the supperior
mental and electric forces of the
people on Mar’s. The play requires
careful directing, scenic and elec
trical effects. The second act n
particular is very elaborate, show
ing a London street during a heavy
snow storm at the same time by
transparent view of the interior of
a home of a swell English Lord
ling. Mr. Peruchi has been very
careful in selecting the Dramatic
material from our local talent and
in an interview states that Fitz
gerald offers some unusual clever

London, Nov. 25 —Military events in the Balkans appear to b 2
marching swiftly to a conclusion disastrous to Serbia. The approaches
to the hisloric battlefield of Kossovo Plain, which was expected to
form a strong defensive line, seriously delaying the advance of the
invaders already has been traversed, In the ensuing battle the Ser
bians are reported to have been unable to withstand the shock of the
attack, and thev are now said to be in retreat toward the Albanian
border. Since the fall of Pristina and Mitrovitis the keys to the
Serbian defensive position, final Sarbian retreat has been regarded as
inevitable.
Legislature Adjourned Thursday
All Acts Passed Except Warehfiuse Bill.
Atlanta. Nov. 25.—The extraordi
nary session of the General Assem
bly adjourned sine die at 12 oclock
today in accordance with the pro
gramme tentatively decided upon
when the Conference Committee‘
on the Western and Atlantic re-leas
ing bill was appointed last night.
Both houses agreed today to the
Conference Committee’s report, as
decided upon last night. was intro
ducing only one new element—the
specific appointment of Attorney W.
A. Wimbish of Atlanta as counsel
to the commission. This new fea
ture was added to the committee’s
report just before the Legislature
met this morning.

the commission will be composed of
lthe Governor, the chairman of the
Railroad Commission, G. Gunby
Jordan, of Columbus; J. L. Hand of
Pelham, and Fuller E. Callaway of

The only suLject submitted to the
Legislature on which no action was
taken was the cotton warehouse
system. This subject became in
volved in a dispute and it was ap
parent it would have considerably
delayed adjournment had if been
threshed out. It was decided, there
fore, to report at the regular session
next summer, when some definite
action is expected to be taken re
garding a safe and secure form of
cotton warehouse receipts.
