Essential Things In The
Practice of Osteopathy.
Many people th'nk that manipulation is the essential part of
Osteopathy, while as a matter of fact it is of secondary im
portance.
The matter of greatest importance is to- locate and deter
mine the nature of the strained;vertebral, or other joints of the
body as well as how to correct them and how to interpret
the effects of such strains. This requires an exact and com
prehensive knowledge of the entire body.
It is necessary that the Osteopathic physician Le especially
trained in anatomy and physiology and thoroughly versed in
the changes that take place in the body when deceased. He
must be well grounded, not only in the diagonosis of diseases,
but in all else that pertains to them.
Merely to be able to manipulate no more makes an Osteo
pathy Physician than the ability to use a monkey wrench
makes an Automobile mechanic. :

grounds. Put the shrubs about
base of the house, the corners

Avoid straight lines in plan
Good shrubs to use are the vari

arbor vitae and junipers.
Shade trees should be planted
around the lawn, along the walks, at
the intersection of roads, walks. QOaks
are very desirable, water, live and
pin oaks being excellept. Magnolias,
maples, particularly Nerway maples;
sycamore; in certain E’éctions, elms;
and evergreen trees such as deodora
cedar, Hymalian pine and ordinary
pines may be planted.
It is not unusual for cotton to suf

a result of unnecessary exposure. At
all times it should be kept off the
ground and properly sheltered.
