Mr. F. M. Monk, State inspec
tor of convict camps is in the
city today inspecting Ben Hill
county’s camp. Mr. Monk states
that the Hog industry in Colquit
ceunty is rapidly taking on large
propositions and that the pack
ing house in Moultrie is running
day and night to keep up with
the large supply of hogs shipped
to them. 36,000 hogs were
slaughtered by them the first
year, which closed on the 14th.

died from the result of his
wounds. The negro is still in

vised of the serious illness of his

A horse attached to a buggy
belonging to W. L, Watson run
away Tuesday and falling into
a ditch broke one of his legs.
The animal had to be shot.
Two of Mr. Watson’s children
in the buggy at the time cscap
ed without injuries.

Alabama Sheriff ~
Gets His Prisoner
Sheriff J. W. Living of Anda
lusia, Ala., was in the city Wed
nseday with requisition papers
honored by Gov. Nat. Harris for
T. W. Hodge 1n jail here. Hodge
was arrested by Sheriff Fountain
on suspicion of having committed
murder in Alabama, a reward of
five hundred dollars being offered
for his arrest. The officer received
the reward offered by the Ala.
county for the arrest $3OO and will
receive a further two hundred
when Hodge is convicted, by the
State. His conviction is assured
as eye witnssses swear to ';'his
