home from the M. E. Conferen
ce in Atlanta to conduct the
funeral services of Mrs. Harris
who died on Friday night at the
home of her son-inslaw, Dr.
David Tibbott. Mrs. Tibbott
was so prostrated by her be
reavement that she was unable
to leave her home and so the
services were held at the house
by Rev. Guinn of the U. B.
Church just preceeding the fun
eral atthe M. E. Church where
the membership was assembled

| Mayes celebrated his ninth birth
'day, inviting ten of his little
’friends. After playing games
on the lawn Mrs. Mayes invited
the children in to a beautifully
arranged table, where the chil
dren enjoyed delicious refresh
ments, consisting of fruits and
hot chocolate and cake. The
invited guests were Margaret
Pope Thurmond, Dorothy Jay,
Elizabeth Maffett, Marjorie Den
mark, Mamie Ruth Rogers,

I THEATRE PARTY
Mr. Ludlow Griner Jr., enter
tained quite a number of his
friends Saturday afternoon with
a theatre party. Ludlow was
celebrating his tenth birthday
and received many nice gifts.
After seeing the pictures at the
Amusu Theatre, refreshments
were enjoyed at the National.
Twenty three little boys and
girls enjoyed the occasion and
were chaperoned by Mrs. L L.
Griuer, Mrs. Manon Smith and
Miss Edith Griner.
Mrs. G. W. Cole will entertain
at a beautiful shower on Tuesday
for her sister Miss Jeffie Persons.
