Fitzgerald Must Take The Lead
Boys it’s our fight. Fitzgerald started the ‘Short Route”
movement and it is up to us to land it. Our associated
cities and counties have built their roads and they have
manfully kept the faith. They are looking to us to lead
the fight and will stand by us to the finish. Fitzgerald’s
progressiveness has been the inspiration for our sister
cities in the past and now, when the goal is about to be
reached, they are looking to us to lead them to a glori
ous victory. To the end that the fight for the Dixie
Highway may be won, we urge the immediate organiza- ‘
tivn of an Auto club, which will take the organization of
the ‘short route” forces in hand. No time should be lostl
our opponents are strong financially and numerically
and they will leave nothing undone that may lead to their
success. It’s up to Fitzgerald o get busy and lead the
procession. :
Berlin, December 23.—Officials who stand high in Germany’s
military establishment expressed the belief to-day that Lord
Kitchener would in the near future retire from the post of British
Secretary of war.
| “‘The retirement of Sir John French,”’ said one, ‘‘will not save '
Ritchener. French followed the orders issued directly by the
l}itish War Office, and that is well known in England as well as inl
Germany.
' “It is possible that no change in the British Cabinet will be
anounced for some weeks, but when it comes we believe that
I{‘itchener, at least, will go.”’ l

THRICE-A-WEEK
To Our Fellow-Beings:
We have searched our hearts and, now at Yuietide, we feel the
deeper emotions of a FRIENDSHIP that is pure, free and untainted with
claims on you for business gain; and we greet you as never before in the
spirit of Him whose birth brought forth a song from God's angel choir in
Heaven to His loved ones on earth that night out on the commons near
the city of David and whose mission on earth was to establish in the
hearts of men a STATE of PEACE on EARTH and GOOD WILL
TOWARDS MEN. .
As business men we turn from thoughts of worldly gain and
catch and speak out the deeper feelings of love toward God and man.
for the gift of His son to save us, and the manifest friendship of those
who have labored around;about us and with us in earning livings by the
sweat of the brow.
It comes to our knowledge that thisis an age when men of great
note and worth turn their gold into morality and religion bettering the
life of others.
When all men shall dispense of personal greed and seek to make
others happy as themselves, there shall be the better end of that pro
phetic song of the angels: “ PEACE ON EARTH GOJD WILL TOWARD
MEN.”
Thus, concerned for others and being in the spirit of Thanksgiving,
wishing we may do more to serve and make happy our fellow man as
our years roll away, may YOU HAVE A HAPPY CHRISTMAS and
BETTER LEARN WHAT THE CHRISTMAS SEASON EXACTS, OF
US ALL AND WHAT IT MEANS TO THE WORLD.
