We lose time when we halt to
censure, pity or condemn our
selves. If we find we have made
a mistake, correct it if possible;
if not, look sharp that we do not
repeat it. If we have deliberately
gone wrong, let us be brave
enough, womanly ewough, sturdi

gin over.

~ The matter of freight rates was
discussed at length and the asso

freight rates whie¢ hinvolves an
increase of 0 to 125 per cent over
the present rates of shipping ap

point to other points in this state.
The association contends that the

COTTION FIRE LOSSES
THIS SEFASON ARE THE
HEAVIEST ON RECORD
Atlanta, April B.—Cotton fire
losses in the southern states this
season have been the largest on
record, according to figures com
plied by a local insurance statis
tician. These figures show that
not less than 40,000 bales of cot
ton have gone up in smoke since
the ginning season last fall, and
that the loss is more than $3,000,-
000. The heaviest losses have
been in Georgia, Oklahoma and
‘Fexas; and of course (Georgia's
heaviest loss was the recent dis
astrous fire in Augusta. The
epidemic of cotton fires according
to prominent Insurance men
here, will result in organized ef
forts by fire insurance compa
nies to distribute the warehouses
and to improve warehouse con
struction.
