Mr. James is a prominent l):mk--\

been in the courts from time to
time, for the pas: year. At one
time he was reported to be worth

creditors filed a petition of invol

but he replied that he was a til

the bankruptcy court. This plea
was sustained by the United
States court and the case was dis

In the petition just filed, which
was voluntary on the part of Mr,
James, the largest individual
creditor is the Tennessee Ferti

$23,214.52. There are a good
many creditors to whom are due
several thousand dollars each.
Mr. James was identified with
two Blankely institutions which
failed not long ago.

BONES OF A GEORGIA
GOVERNOR DUG UP
Savannah, Ga., April 27.—Col
omel R. J. Travis, chairman of a
committee representing the Geor
gia Sm‘ict}' Sons of the Revolu
tion, reported to the commission
ers of Chatham county today that
the grave of Governor Samuel
IKibert, chiel executive of Geor
gia in 1785, had been found by’
him. The bones of the govern
or's wife were also found. They
had rested in a mound at the
}'mnuth of Pipemaker’s Creek near
Savannah, and were uncovered
by convicts while excavating for
a drainage ditch.
There were a number of bones
unearthed at the time but they
were supposed to have been those
of Indians until Colonel Travis
visited the scene. He found un
mistakable evidence, he says,
that the bones were those of the
former governor. Te asked the
county for a sufficient number of
men to have the body properly
exhumed and prepared for burial
elsewhere. The request was
granted. v

“TanIac Changed Me From a
Nervous Wreck to a Healthy
Woman,” Says Mrs. Burgin
“When [ told my husband I
wanted a bottle of Tanlac he
said “You might as well throw
your dollar out in the street, but
if you want to try it I will get
you a bottle” He did get it, and
when I had finished taking it he
went straight to the drug store
and got another bottle, for he saw
the wonderful good it had done
me, was convinced it was a good
medicine, and was mighty glad
to pay out another dollar,” said
Mrs. G. R. Burgin, of 214 Second
street, Birmingham.
“Since I began taking Tanlac,”
continued Mrs. Burgin, “it looks
like everytime I look in the mir
ror 1 am heavier., and no wonder,
for I went from 80 pounds to 103
__a gain of twenty-three pounds.
It took just five bottles of Tan
lac to do this for me. Besides,
it has changed me from a sick,
rundown, worn-out and nervous
wreek inte a healthy woman, ;md}
I now feel hke living. \
“Really, T had gotten so weak
[ couldn’t hardly lift a scuttle of
coal to the fireplace. My kidneys
were all out of shape. 1 was too
nervous to sleep and my stomach
was all out of order. T wasin this
very condition three long years.
I was losing ground every day,
and lost weight until T was al
most a living skeleton. I had
about despaired of ever seeing a
well day again, for no kind of
medical treatment seemed to help
matters in the least. Finally, I
oot practically helpless.
“1f anybody would have told
me there was a medicine on carth
‘th:\t would increase my weight
twenty-three pounds | would have
lt‘nnught them crazy, but as sure
as | am alive today. Tanlac did it
for me—and only five bottles at
that.
“Tt looks like every day I.am
stronger and feel better. I have
a good appetite, and enjoy every
thing I eat. Before 1 began tak
ing Tanlac 1 couldn’t cat hardly
anything without becoming nau
seated. 1 sleep sound and am rid
of the nervousness. My kidneys
hother me no longer. To tell
you the truth, I don’t feel like the
same person at all since Tanlac
straightened me out.” ;
“Yes, Tanlac is v the greatest
medicine on earth,” said Mrs.
Burgin's father, who entered the
room during his daughter’s con

seen my daughter before she be

believe it was thé same person
who you“see sitting there. She
was just about played out. 1 just

she has starved long enough, and
it does me a lot of good to see her

Worse Than Reported. Irish
People in America Say Truth
is Suppressed
London, April 26—Drastic
steps have been taken by the Brit

rising in Dublin by the proclama- |
tion of martial law in the city and |
cqunty, and by proclaiming the
associations which took part in
‘the movement illegal associations
‘which will enable the police to
break them .up.
This was announced in the
house of commons today by Pre
mier Asquith who, while making
a more reassuring statement with
regard to the situation in the
Irish capital, did not add much to
previous knowledge of what has
happened there since Monday at
noon, when rebels took possess
ion of the postoffice and certain
sections of the city. '
Troops Reinforced 1
The prime minister was able to
say, however, that Liberty Hall,
the headquarters of the Sinn Fein.
party, and St. Stephen’s green,
which seemed to have been the
center of the rising, had been oc
cupied by the military, who were
being reinforced by troops from
England and Belfast.
National volunteers, Mr. As
quith said, had turned out to as
sist the authorities, while many
local persons had offered them
aid.
Attacked Dublin Castle.
| In the course of a statement in
the house of commons this after
noon Lord Lansdowne said that
the rebels in Dublin had made a
half-hearted attack on Monday on
Dublin castle. There was now a
complete cordon of troops around
the center of Dublin, he added.
The casualties at Dublin, ac
cording to Lord Lansdowne’s
statement, were fifteen killed and
twenty-one wounded, besides two
loyal volunteers and two police
men killed and six loyal volun
teers wounded.
Worse Than Reportéd
New York, ‘April 26.—The re

formation reported today to have
been received in Irisn-circles here.
A force of 10,000 rebels is op
posing authorities in Dublin and
neighboring Irish counties, it was
asserted.
The reports had it that John
Mac Neill, leader of the Irish vol
unteers and editor of their official
organ, the Irish Volunteer, had
been shot.
The activities of Sir Roger
Casement were partly financed
by Irish-Americans, who contrib

cause, according to Jeremiah

Mr. &Leary and other promi

favor Irish independence, insist
ed, however, that there was no
connection with Sir Roger’s expe
dition and the Dublin revolt.
WAR BREVITIES
Premier Asquith announced in
Parliament t.day at n -n that
martial law hns been deciaced in
all Ireland.
The Rabels are siill holding
the public baildings in Duniin,
and street fighting conuiues.
British reiniorcements were
sent to Ireland from Wales today.
Premier Asquith admits that
the revolt is spreading and that
the situation is serious.
The heavy guns of the British
warships in the bay are trained
on Dublin today.
It is believed however that the
military auhtorities have the
revolutionary situation so well
under control that it will not be
necessary to fire upon the city.

part of Dublin has been sacked, it
