L. & . CONDUCTOR
Capt. Parker Now Eats Cabbage
and Pork Like a Section Hand.
“I have got to hand it to that
Tanlac, for ther is no doubt about
it being the finest thing ever sold
in a drug store for the people that
have any sort of stomach trouble
or indigestion,” said Capt. Eugene
Parker, a popular Louisville and
Nashville conductor, running be
tween Birmingham and Mont
gomery, and who lives at 417
Sixth avenue, Inglenook, a few
days ago.
“Why, the way it has straigh
tened me out in just a short
time,” he continued, “is a mystery
and it has done for me what noth
ing else I ever tried would do. 1
had mighty near got to where' 1
didn’t need to go to the table any
more, so far as eating was con
cerned, for I couldn’t eat anything
after 1 got there. If I did, I had
to pay dear for it in a little while,
for my stomach had about played
out uhngct{hm:
“There was a continual sore
ness in my stomach and { thought
sometimes it must be an abscess.
My liver never was right and
there was not a day but what I
had to get something from the
drug store for headache and to
settle my stomach. I .never had
much life in me and had fallen off
a great deal. I was in a badly run
down shape generally and hardly
fit to do my work.
“About threg weeks ago a friend
of mine asked me why 1 didn't
try this Tanlac, as he had used it
and found it to be the very thing
he nceded, so I took him up on
his suggestion and stopped at the
Anderson Drug company in In
glenook and bought two bottles of
it, but I must say I never looked
for it to do me any good, as so
many things had been recom
mended to me and I-tried them all
without any benefit.
“Well, I am afraid some peo
ple won’t believe it, but it is a
fact and I can prove it. After 1
had used those two bottles I
weighed and found I had actually
gained 18 pounds. It just straigh
tened my stomach out in no time
and since I took the first dose I
have not had to take anything
for a headache.
“I have the finest kind of an
appetite now and can eat any
thing. The other day out on the
road our supplies had run low and
I had some salt pork and cabbage
cooked up on the caboose and I
ate it like a section hand and en
joyed every mouthful of it. That'’s
‘going some’ for a man who had
stomach trouble, but it did not
hurt me one bit. :
“I notice I sleep a great deal
better now and am just about 100
per cent in better shape every
way. [ really believe Tanlac is
the best remedy in the world and
there are a lot of other people out
my way who think the same
thing.”

MOUNTAINS OR HILLS
AS YOU LOOK AT THEM
Anywhere in America. Moun
tains if you wish, or hills if the
map insists, but scenic beauty
anyhow.
“They came to the Delectable
Mountains,’.” are the words of de
light that voice the greatest throb
of joy in Pilgrim.’s Progress.
Ideas of scenic beauty are some
how bound up with mountains.
A motorist’s thought of pictures
que tours always stages moun
tainous country. But mountains
are hills, and hills are mountains
as one views them. It is not an
angle of altitude, but an angle of
appreciative visions,
- That your mountains, or your
hills, whichever are nearest you,
have the glories of highlands, re
gardless of what footage the to
pographical map accords them, is
the sermon being taught by the
“National Touring Week’.’ move
ment. Let the motorist take his
automobile this vacation time and
discover the truth and wisdom of
this point of view.
“See America first by seeing
your own state first,” is the senti
ment that is going to make the
citizen of this county look on the
vistas nearest him with a differ
ent and better vision. The Nat
ional Touring \Weck idea has
caught the nation. Newspapers,
automobile clubs, and automobile
dealers, are echoing the call of the
road. When August 6 dawns,
thousands of motorists will be en
route on the vacation motoring
tours that are to make the ensu
ing week memorable in this na
tion.
From the Atlantic strand to the
Pacific shore the automobilists are
plannnig to take their vacations
N motoring tours, “National
Touring Week” (August 6 to 13)
which is the official vacation of
the American automobilist, will
see 500,000 motor cars on the
road.

‘ AT this season of the year when sales are so prevalent,
‘ we feel that we should emphasize the fact that these
styles are new---new not only in the sense that they have
just arrived---but in the truer sense that they were created
~ and made immediatety preceding their shipment to us.
From this standpoint as well as from the standpoint of in
herent merit---these Waists are much more desirable than
any “on sale” Waists at the same price---marked down from
their former higher level.
