GUARD AGAINST DISEASE <
Tifton, Aug. 24.—The pcople{
of Tift and Irwin counties, in the
first rural sanitary district of%
Georgia, are taking full advan
tage of the opportunity offered to
guard against contagious or in
fectious diseases.
Dr. Fort, officer in charge, has
called every day to different sec
tions of the county to inquire in
to cases supposed to be of an in
fectious nature. Since August 1
he has inoculated 2,000 people
against typhoid or slow fever, and
the work is only under good head
way. Saturday he divided be
tween Ocilla and Tifton -and in
oculated 450 besides making a
trip between the two county
seats.

According to the National Gin
ner’s report, which came out to
day, the condition of the crop is}
65.1, the lowest on record for ten
years, With a limited supply and
a strong demand there is no rea
son why cotton shouldn’t go to
twenty cents, according to the
best informed men in the trade.
