HUGH DORSEY AT THE
COURTHOUSE
Hon. Hugh M. Dorsey, candi
date for Governor, spoke at the
courthouse Friday afternoon to
about 500 people. A large num
ber of his friends came from Ir
win, Wilcox and Turner counties
to hear his speech. A number of
ladies were 1n the audience.
During the delivery of his
speech Mr. Dorsey was frequent
ly interrupted with applause, es
pecially at such times when some
witticism at the expense of his
opponents pleased his audience.
His speech was along the lines
delivered at other places, and de
nying his connection with the L.
& N. Railroad and pledging his
efforts for law enforement.
In the audience were a good
many supporters of the other can
didates and it is fair to say that
Mr. Dorsey retained his friends
and left unconverted the many
lwho were previously opposed to
him.
