IMPLEMENTS OF FARMERS
WILL COST MORE
Chicago, Nov. 21.—Farm im
plements of all kinds are to cost
more, some of them as much as
30 per cent, according to an an
nouncement made today by the
International Harvester Com
pany.
Machinery has advanced more
than 15 per cent, and twine will
be between 25 and 40 per, cent
‘more than last spring. Coinci
dentally, farm machinery manu
facturers, in session here, are dis
cussing the matter in executive
}session. They are said to have
decided that cash will be requir
ed from farmers and long-time
credits and installment purchases
[——-thc present practice—are to be
i abolished.
~ This action is based upon large
surpluses piled up in country
‘banks to the credit of the farm
ers as a result of the high prices
being received from farm prod
ucts and to the relief that the
ngw farm credits law will make
it easier for the farmer to pay
cash.
