ASKS AID FOR LIBRARY
Do your friends borrow books from
your home and fail to return them?
And with all good intentions many
‘good books have been ‘“borrowed”
| from the high school office, have
passed arour’d from home to home
until they have been lost sight of. A
former teacher reports that she helped
[ to purchase an entire set of Stoddard’s
Lectures. now only one copy remains.
’ Why:not give a good book to our
Carnegie Library tomorrow, where a
paid lil’i‘arian will see that it is prop
erly cared for and always returned
untilft is worn out with service. There
are’two kinds of books, the read and
‘the unread, just as there are living
rooms, the lived-in and the dark,
musty, unused living room that re
pels with its very atmosphere. Our
library boasts of used books, that are
elevating and educating our young
people of today.
A good book or a little silver for
the book fund will be appreciated at
the Carnegie Library on the afternoon
of Washington’s Birthday, from 3:30‘
till 6 o’clock, and a costumed “Martha
Washington” will be there to receive‘
it and see that it is properly placed.
