The committe also reported on the
error in tlie taxation of the property
of Samuel Greer, which read $300 0ft
while it should have read $3,000 0ft.

This upset all calculations and no
two aldermen seemed to have the
same opinion, as some believed it was
a monoply. others a trick, while some
believed it a good thing, which caused
a warm decission. A saloon ordinance
was then read making the license
$2,000. which was amended to read
$800, then again $1,000. After be
ing reconsidered, appealed from the
dicision of the chair the whole niattei
was referred to the license committee

of this c ty. officiated.
Owing to the illness of the bride’s
father, the wedding was a quiet one,
but few besides the family having
witnessed the ceremony.
The bride vs a former resident of
Fitzgerald and a young lady of ex¬
cellent qualities.
The groom is the son of one our
foremost farmers, and is a young
man of steady habits and sterling
business qualifications.
He will be remembered by many of
our people as a former clerk of the
Watt & Holmes Hardware Co. of this
city. At present he is acting as as¬
sistant tax collector.
The Enterprise joins the many
friends of the happy couple in hearty
congratulations and good wishes for
a life of usefulness, success and hap¬
piness.

One of the most pleasant entertain¬
ment- during the holidays was the
oyster supper given on Tuesday
nig' t by the Ladies of the M. E.
Church S«uth The tables were la¬
den with good things and pretty lit¬
tle ladies served all who were pres
ent. The oys era were fine and the
cooking all an epicure could desire.
A neat sum was realized for the use
of the Sabbath school. Much of the
success of the affair was due to the
efforts of Mrs. H. F. Atherton, as¬
sisted by M sdamesGpodman, Algee,
Harley, Eaten, Harvey and Mark
land.

We are still in the ling—the ring
of the frigid zone. After a storm, a
calm Xmas was enjoyed by old and
young, now and then a weak brother
