| Better Than Pills.
‘'The question has been asked—in
what way are Chamberlain’s Stom
ach and Liver Tablets superior to the
ordidary cathartic and liver pills?
Our answer is—They are easier and
more pleasant to take and their ef
fect 1s so gentle and so agreeable
that one hardly realizes that it is
produced by a medicine. Then they
not only move the bowels but im-‘
prove the appetite and aid the diges
tion. For sale at 25 cents per bottle

The New Poundmaster,
The appeintment of Mr. W. R.
Skinner as pound master will, we
believe, settle for a time, at leasty
the vexed question of keeping' &
suitable man in that office. "
Mr. Skinner is a man of gres
tenacity of purpose, and belie
in the enforcement of thefv;_
law; at the same time he j&-3
to the owners of stock ‘in thel
cinity of the city, and n
them with the utmost
ation. He realizes that he
two classes of people tod
one cluss consists of the layws
ing citizens who wanttoatii
the laws and the regulatiol
the city ordinances. The &
is made up of the cow owHE
who want to take advantage g
the fine pasturage inside the cit§
limits, and who disrdgard the
rights of their neighbors. We
believe that Mr. Skinner will do
his duty by all parties who are
affected by the enforcement of
the stock la'w.
Scme Seasonable Advice.
It may be a piece of flsupen-fluoulll
advice to urge people at this season
of the year to lay in a supply of
Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. It is
alnyost sure to be needed before win
ter is over, and much more prompt
and satisfactory results are obtained
when taken as soon as a cold is con- |
tracted and before it has become set- 1
tled in the system, which can only|
bedone by keeping the remedy a.t:ll
hand. This remedy i 3 so widely
known and so altogether good that
no one should hesitate about buying
Lit in preference to any other. It is
for sale by J. Hawkins Goodman.
