Gospel Temperance Meeting. !
Fitzgerald, Ga., Sept. 26, ’O4.
The gospel temperance meet
ing that was held in the Blue
and Gray park, Oct. 2ad, was
well attended, and the la ge au
dience listened with profound
attention to the address by Rev.
Minor, and most thoroughly ap
preciated the solo by Mrs.
Abrams. It was an excellent ser
vice all the way through, which
was most gratifying o the W,
C. T. U, under whise auspices
it was held. .
This was the first of a series
of like meetings, We hope to be
able to invite you to one each
‘month. The programs will be
varied, but always interesting.
We hope by the next meeting to
have a gospe! temperance chorus
choir of at least fifty voices, in
cluding all the best singers in the
city. We ask every christian
man and woman to co-operate
with us in our efforts to make
these meetings a success.

On October 24, 26, and 28 the
Atlantic & Birmingham Railway
will sell round trip tickets from
Fitzgerald to Jacksonville, Fla.,
on account of the Second Annual
Trades Carnival to be held at
Jacksonville, Fla, 24-29 1904, at
rate of one fare plus 25 cents for
the round trip. Leave Fitzgerald
at 3:45 p. m., arriving at Jack
sonville at 9:15 p. m.

For Governor, Hon. Joseph M. Terrell re
ceived 644 votes in the county, and the balance
of the state ticket received practically the same

third pastorial year,we, the pas
tor and his peaple, turn our eyes
teward bright future interpreted
by hope. Last Lordsday was
the first Lordsday of the new
pastoral year, and a good day it
was. For ninety dollars was
given, which enabled the church
to begin the year entirhly out of
‘debt to the pastor. And if there
is a profane, saloon-frequenting
‘member I don’t know his name
