Stephen Hesse and wife, of
Wichita, Kansas, have started
for Germany upon a special in
vitation from Emperor William
to help him celebrate his silver
wedding aniversary. This honor
came to Mr. Hesse unsolicited.

large new planing mill. One

troyed as soon as it left the loom
therefore cannot be duplicated.
The lace for triming is an old
heir-lcom having omamented not
only her mother’s gown but her
grand mother’s and great-grand
mother’s.
. Mrs. Rilla Dietzman, niece to
M. T. Kibby arrived yesterday
from Michigan, where they were
in the midst of a blizzard, Mrs.
Dietzman has spent her winters
lin this city for several years and
we heartily welcome her return.

There are no new develop
mentsin the case of the Thomp
son sisters who were taken from
the medicine show. Proper
steps are being taken to place
them in an institution of learn
ing. Since the first day they
have acted as though a cioud had
been lifted and they are now hap
py and contented—their only ex
pressed wish being that the
other two girls could be rescued
from the show. The children
themselves are anxious to go to
school.
It was the Woman’s Christian

charge of the little Thompson
girls. The latter is strictly a
patriotic organization while the
