In the davs of the Spanish—
Awerican war a plan originated
in the Enterprise office and the
plan was carried out, whereby
everyone of the soldiers from
this colony who served ia that
war was furnished an identifica
tion badge with their full name,
home address and company and
regiment. A silken cord was
attached and our soldier boys
wore those badges around the
neck under the clothing., While
P, S. Cummings of western Neb
raska was here on account of his
father’s illness, he iaformed us
that he still had his badge and
treasured it highly. Amnother
Spanish-American war veteran
on the street spoke up and said
“Money could not buy mine.”
