Long Thumb—Strong Will.
If the top joint of your thumb 18
long, it shows that you have good will
power. Well-developed reasoning fac
ulties are possessed by those people
who have thumbs the second joints of
which are long. Thumbs that work
easily are owned by careless. happy
go-lucky, spendthrift individuals. A
[stifi’. firm-jointed thumb, however,
shows that the person is keen, tact
ful,. self-possessed, and cautious—the
sort of man who will get on in the
world.
Twenty-Mile Jump.
With the material at hand it is
Impossible for man to make an elec
tric spark which will jump an open
ing of more than a few inches, but
It is stated that a flash of lightning
represents so much power that it fre
quently makes a jump of 20 miles from
one cloud to another or from a cloud
to the earth.
Discovery Credited to Cattle.
It was owing to cattle refusing te
drink from an impregnated spring on
Epsom common in 1618 that Epsom
salt was discovered. Doctors exam
ined the spring, and in consequence
of their verdict all the aristocracy of
England were hurrying to Epsom a
few years later to take the waters.

Q.—ls there really any difference
in batteries?
A.—Yes, but there are really only
two kinds of batteries. Those with
wood seperators and those with
Threaded Rubber Insulation.
Q—ls Threaded Rubber Insulation
the only feature that puts the Willard
Threaded Rubber Battery ahead of
ordinary automobile battery?
A—By no means. The Willard
Threaded Rubber Battery has all
the improvements that have grown
out of Willard’s years of specializa
tion in building starting lighting and
ignition batteries. Ask us about it.

Idiosyncrasies. Y
The thing to be remembered is that
there are personal idiosyncrasies in
every worker, and that each worker
does some kind of work especially
weil and other tasks indifferently or
poorly. It is hardly worth while for |
the mistress to attempt to change a
worker’s natural manner of work or
habits! Some workers plod slowly for
hours and they are not the kind that
can ever work quickly for short peri
ods. The thing to do is to try to find
out how they work best and improve
their efficiency along that particular
line.
