Naval Veteran Hurt When Naval
Gun Percussion Cap Bursts Gun
' Wiiliam W. Dykes, popular young
|forlncr employce of the Atlanta, Bir
| mingham and Atlantic railroad, was
painfully injured yesterday morning
when a dynamite. percussion cap
which the wag firing in his gun for
experiment, hurst the breech of the
!l’iring picce. A large section of the
| gun barrell ripped through the young
man’s left fore-armi, breaking bhoth
bones. He was fishing on the Oc
mubgee river mnear ‘Lampkin’s old
| field.
The attending physician at# the
Fitzgerald Hospital states this morn
ing that the young man’s condition
is not serious and no complications
from blood poisoning are feared.

of Mr. Spencer Williams departed
this life on Sunday, April 24 after an
illness of six months. The many
friends will be pained to learn of the
death of this beloved one.
She was a ufember of the Free-will
Baptist chuyrch of Fitzgerald who
will ever hold her in grateful renrem
brance left to mourn her loss are five
children, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, But
