HALLOWEEN FROLIC
Mrs, Lawrence Phillips entertained
a number of the young people at her
home on Monday evening in honor of
Miss Wylene Jolly and Mrs, Mack
Phillips,
The home was most artistically de
corated in the Hallowecen colors and
all kinds of Halloween games were
played, The guests came in costumes
of witches agnd ghosts and later in the
evening made a trip to the city to
join with the fun of others who were
out for an evening of fun, The game
of pinning the tail on the cat was en
joved and those receiving the prizes
were Lucile. Willcox and Mack Phil
lips. Ice cream and cake, and apples
were served at the home.
Mrs, H. A, Mathis and Mrs, Asa
Smith assisted in entertaining and in
chaperoning the children,

Jolly, Lucile Wilcox, Elizabeth Sto
vall, Lois Mayo, Frances Alberson,
Jean Alberson and Masters Mack Phil

HALLOWEEN
FROLIC
The guests of the Empire Hotel were
delightfully entertained at a Hallow
een party on Monday night by Mrs,
J. W, Greenawalt, Mrs. W_ O, Trip
lett, Mrs. S, G, Bullington and Mrs.
Ted Myers,
As each one was seated for supper
they were given a slip of paper rolled
and tied with yellow ribbon inviting
them to participate in the Halloween
fun for the evening. The menu for
supper carried out the Halloween idea
in every detail, The hall, dining room
and living room were darkened and
lichted with candles in pumpkins and
the rooms were artistically decorated
with witches, black cats, jacko-lanterns
and Halloween colors,
After supper the party adjourned to
the living room where the evening
was spent bobbing for apples, pinning
the tail on the hlack cat, carrying pea
nuts on a knife and many other games,
Mrs, W. O, Triplett in witches cos
tume furnished amusement by telling
fortunes in a hooth in one corner of
the room, Mrs. S, G. Bullington
furnished music on the piano and mu
sic on the victrola was also enjoyed.

EPWORTH LEAGUE
SOCIAL
The senior Epworth league of the
Central Methodist Church enjoyed a
Halloween social in the league rooms
on Friday evening, Mrs, W. R, Bragg,
president and Miss Chatfield, chair
man of the social committee were
in charge of the entertainment, The
usual Halloween games were enjoyed
and the refreshments consisted of
sugar cane, peanuts, apples, etc.
About forty guests enjoyed this fun.

SALIMAGUNDA
The program committee of the First
M. E., Epworth League has never
been surpassed in the delightful and
unique social affairs that they have
put on, from time to time, The last
is accounted the best and was called
a Salimagundi Haloween, Tt was held
in the church parlors and attended by
a few less than a hundred guests old
and young,
There were fourteen tables of hu
morous contest games, appropriate to
the occasion and were played in pro
gressive style minus the prizes.
Many ghost walkers and their fan
tastic costumes were seen, Pop corn
was sold to help with the expenses but
the bountiful refreshments of pumpkin
pie, sandwiches and hot chocolate
were served free at a late hour,

Some of the members and triendgs ot
the Kennedy Memorial Baptist church
gave a surprise party for Rev, and
Mrs, C, A, umn, which was an enjoy
able affair of Halloween night,
In disguise the crowd met at the
church and went in a body to the pas
tor’s home enterting in the back, cach
carrying a pound of something for
the kitchen, Later in the even'ng many
ovtdoor and indoor games were en
ioyed by those present.
Those in disguise impersenated
many wierd gharacters, About fifty
four were present. -

The B, Y, . U, of Mt. Olive church
cnjoyed a delightful Halloween social
at the home of Mr, and Mrs, James
Garrison on Monday evening,
The Halloween decorations were
used extensively and the guests all
camme dressed as spooks, At a late
hotur the party drove into the city in
six automobiles and cnjoycd refresh
irents at Fowler’s Drug Store,
About fifty young people enjoyed
the evening,
Mrs, J, D, Robinson who has been
living for some months in Ashville,
N. C, came to Fitzgerald yesterday
to be with her father Mr. W, G. Dor
miney in his last hours, Mrs, Robin
son and her husband Captain Robin
son and little grandson Bill Corley
have made their home here with Mr,
Dorminey a great deal of the time
during the past four years and since
the death of her mother Mrs. W, G
Dorminey in May 1918,
