On Wednesday evening Mr, Worrill
entertained a large party at a cane
grind on Mr, J. C, Bush's farm, There
were about one hundred and fifty
pople present from all around the sur
rounding country including a number
from Irwinville and Fitzgerald.

THIRD WARD SCHOOL
In company with the little Pilgrims
and girls, the children of Miss Chat
field’s division of the first grade are
enjoying a visit to Holland this weck,
Next week we shall take a lovely voy
age across the ocean in America in
time to have Thanksgiving dinner with
the kind Indians, We alrcady know
a sweet prayer of Thanksgiving which
we sing. and several readings for the
occasion, We are going to dress up in
Pilgrim costume and entertain the
other grades during the morning ex
ercises.
But we really think we are smartest
when spelling, Our teacher makes us
spell words of our letters, It does not
seem exactly fair to us, but we are
doing nicely just the same,
The first thing one sees on entering
Mrs, Lee’s first grade this week is
the Mayflower sailing across the blue
ocean on the sand table. It has almost
reached Plymouth where may also be
seen the famous plymouth rock, Not
very far away through the trees one
can see the Indians in their wigwams,
Massasoit and his friendly tribe are
nearest the shore, while farther away
are the hostile Indians. In the dist
ance back of the sand table are Eng
land and Holland, The children in
this room are dramatizing “The Land
ing of the Pilgrims” The following

The pupils of Miss Tucker’'s Fourth
Grade are especially interested in
taking up the study of hygiene from
text hooks. Theyv are preparing a
little play in connection with it,
The pupils of Miss Roark’s Fourth
Grade are workine on their Thanks
aiving program. They hope to make
it interestine to their parents even if
it will be a short one.

Verv proud are the fifth grade chil
dren of their new curtains, The tur
kev and pumnkin board border shows
that thev haven‘t forgotten Thanks
giving. T.ast week several of the hest
arithmetic and language papers were
nlaced on the burlav hoard for the
mothers to see when thev came to the
Parent-Teachers meetine.

centering around the debate for Mon
