These gentlemen arc now fully in "hilled in their splendid now quarters in Blake’s now building on tho corner of Third ami Poplar Streets. With a single exception they have the best store-house in toe city and being specially built for them, it is entirely adapted to their purposes. This house has two stories and a base ment. 1$ i* fifty by seventy-five feet in dimensions, and as they occupy all three of the flows they have eleven thousand two hundred and fifty square feet of floor room upon which to handle their large stock of groceries and previsions, Tho atom is well-lighted and ventilated, and provided with an elevator and nil the Other appliances of a first-class whole- sale house. With such soperb facilities for doing business and being located within the reach of all tho business that cornea to Macon, those gentlemen most of necessity increase their trade far above what it has ever been heretofore. Their store seems to bo well filled already, notwithstanding their aa that they have fivo hundred packages of goods that havo not yet been moved in. Tbtir spacious cellar is given np entirely to bacon, and the long tiers of casks give promise of food for the cotton growers of the State. On toe first floor wo find a largo stock of groceries, including every' thing that comes under this head. Boxes and 1 lands and sacks ore piled up until there seems to bo room for very little more. On the right, as wo enter, there is a row of shelves which are laden with smaller packages. The scoond floor will bo used mainly for the storing of flour, though wc find there great stacks of boxes of teas, woodenwarc, brooms and a great variety of other articles which it is not necessary that we should enumerate. Their office is in tho rear of toe build' ing, next to Third street, and is elegantly faritiahod and equipped for the transac tion of business. Taking tho establishment “from garret to basement,” it is one that docs credit to tho enterprise of tho excellent business man who are Ha projectors. It is n credit also to the trade of tho city, and wo take pleasure in commending it to the pub lic salt is, by enterprise and responsi bility, clearly entitled to the moet liberal patronage. carpets, Mattings, Kites, Kir. His stock of carpets would charm anybody in tho country. lU luts three pieces of body brusscls that orf gems in their line. They are of American manufacture, which is admit ted to lw vastly superior to the English, nisi are of most exquisite design and really artistic in color. It almost seems a pity that such beautiful goods slioqld bej mmie to lie trodden underfoot. In the wiy of tapestry carpets, ho has some that are almost as beautiful in design and d<or aa tooso above named, and of cheaper carpetings be has an infinite variety that would please any taste and sifit any purse. ilia stock of oil cloths is very large, embracing a great variety of patterns, and ho can fit any size floor from a moot ing house down to a six liy ten office. IB the Hnc of rugs ho has a perfect art gallery, including Teiy many exquisite Assigns, with some superb figure and flower work, done in most brilliant and elaborate coloring. In wallpaper and window shades he has an endless variety, embracing every conoeivablc tint and pattern, and ho h is fall car load of mattings now in store, a^d more are coming. 'This entire department of his estab lishment is complete in overy particular, and we take pleasure in calling attention to it. It is a forward step in the trade of Slaoon. and wo would be glad to see Gapt. Rosa rcceivo such support as will enable him to keep it up to its present standard and oven to enlarge it. Avoid the Perils or the Season—Autumn, although the most radiant portion of the Ameri can year, has its drawbacks. The heavy evening dews and morning vapor* and the great disparity in temperature between the night and day, give rise to many painful duturbaiKvs of the bowels, such as colic, cholera morbus, diarrhow and dys entery. Tbc digestive organs are also unfavora bly affected by the change of the season, and dys peptics generally suffer most severely during the faB. Denafencnti «f the liver are likewine com mon. and miasmatic fevers prevail in newly set tled districts and low-lying and marsiiy localities. These unpleasant contingencies of the season are not. however, unavoidable. By fftrcnaibening, toning and rsrnhting the system with Hostetler's Stomach Bitters even the most delicate may j them. At the expiration of summer all the bodily powers ans in a somewhat exhausted state. They require the wholesome stimulation which this genial vegetable invigorant supplies. Under its renovating influence the nervous energy which the wilting heat of July and August bad kept in abeyance or partially extinguished, crops out afresh; the flaccid muscles recover their elas ticity; the appetite takes a sharper edge; the pro of digestion and assimilation become more rapid and perfect; the spirit* rise, and the whole organisation acquires iu maximum of activity and nt power. Even penuns of comparatively feeble constitutions, when thus fortified against the perils of the season, will have little cause to fear a visitation from any of the disorders to which we have referred.
