The first was a three-cornered .as of stealing, in which the heroins* were Hat tie Robinson, Martha Warren and .Ann.. Hill. These women stole a door frame lelonging to Mr. Mcllurney, and divided It among themselves with a view to using it " to make de pot bite. Parts ,f the frame were found in possession of each of the three. His Honor consented to iliatais# the charge against them pro- vi,led they would pay Mr. McB. five dol lars for the frame. They have until thiri momiujj to settle up. . The next was a ,jua<irunguLr case of fighting, in which the combatants were Maria Church, Anna Blackshear and Mary i'cteni. In this beautiful quartette Maria Church performed on a very loud soprano voice, Anna Uladuhear slung an eicelieut tenor ax. Ellen Blackthorn bran dished a ton or club, and Mary Peters "wrestled around" generally with a lias# smoothing iron. The only solo was by Mans Church—the other three being combined against her. After hearing the testimony in the case, His Honor dis missed Maria Church, as the aggrieved party, and fined the others five dollars a head, which was paid without delay, and all went on their way rejoicing. Thr Iluty of our I.n<lle« at the A|i lironrhlnjr State Fair In the- Ill-play for the County of mtib, During the past, when our country was in the throes of a great and sanguinary revolution, and the hearts of our men stood still with horror at tho direful around us, it was then that tho firmness, decision and kindness of our women shone over our land as a beacon light to give strength and power to the people, and ..•specially were displayed those noble qualities of which wo are so proud, by tho women of Bibb county. And now that ponce overshadows us, and wo are striving to excel in those energies that truly con. itituto a great people, we turn again to those who havo never failed us in time of need, and say that we place our hopes upon you. It is by the industries of our ladios.by the product of their minds and tho skill of their hands that we shall hope to stand foremost in tho county display at tho ap proaching State Fair. Alt articles of home industry, compris ing nil that tho good wifo prepares for her table, all that is for os* or ornament about the household, everything that uloma or adds comfort to tho family that is made or wronght within tho domestic circle, is expected to bo brought forward. In needle and fancy work, ornamental lowing, embroidery, knitting and braid, ing, and all things that pertain especially to tho soft touch and exquisite taste of the female sex. In tho fine arts, painting and its kin. drod branches, and in thoso things that require a clear eye, a delicate touch, and a refined taste, we call upon our ladies to freely forward and join in the enterprise, for they are applied to personally, each and every one of thorn. Let this appeal bo heard from tho centre to tho extreme boarders of this county; let it present itself at every door os a figure of confi donee in our city, a determination of the ncoplo of Bibb to grasp tho banner of success nnd firmly hold it in their hands. Let us show the Stato that, as its cen tre, we combine that strength of charac ter and fertility of resources, upon which with pride our people as Georgians may look as they assemble together in our midst.
