Famous Ball Game.
HARRIS’ FINE PITCHING.
a team belonging, to that town and
Macbn's crack nine of amateurs have
returned home.
From all accounts It was one of t?ie
most notaiUe games of ball ever
played in the state. The Macon boys
walloped their hosts in an unmerciful
manner and further established their
own flno playing. Pitcher Harris
Biruck out fifteen men and wou'.d have
struck'out more -if those who did hit
his curved had not just accidentally
got tnelr’bat 'ln the iwayieV/jilacri* le
eway up to snuff wnen )t comes to
Jus position and never ioses his head.
'I'ne -wonder is tlnat the professionals
are not after him already.
I'aey say Middleton of the .Valdosta
v team'got in 4n*niy r patent. hi)s during
his reign,in the box, hut the Macon
boys somehow got on to ihis *>al.ls and
hatted him rignt and left and every-

scraiped up tne 'baliis off the ground
like an Irishman shovelling dirt, thrive
made; a '’mystic” oai*-'nandeu running
catch in ;lefc field, whicn brougne
dawn me crowd in a worshipful man
ner. Seaman -was on deck every time
they put' nhn in left 'field for the Val
dosta team and made a preuy running
eaten.
There were ful'ly 500 people to wit-
