Bankston's home is at Tunnell Hill,
where It seems Ma.cpuduct tam been
such of lute that his parents deoiled
to have him placed In the State Lunatic
Asylum. Accordingly he was tried on
a writ of lunacy and adjudged Insane.
HU ftither then started to the asylum
with him and arrived there Wednesday.-
Just before reaching the asylum
young Bankston asked his fivrher to
let him see die -writ of lunacy unit,
without suspecting anything wrong,
the father handed it to him. Young
Bankston appeared to be carefully
ivadrng the wnt until the asylum was
reached and they luid been duly pre

the writ to one of the officials for ex

asylum and taken away from his him.
ily, but tliat It had been found neces

violent at times. While ihc sou was
talking to the officials the father was
too astonished to say anything, but
after aiwhllo he could stand it no longer
ami vehemently denied wfamt Iris son
had said; and endeavored to explain
1 he true state of affaire.
The asylum officials were accustomed
to having lunatics protest their sanity
and accuse those nround them of being
crazy and therefore paid little heed to
what the elder Bankston add. He was
taken in charge by the attendants and
the son, after urging the officials with
tears In his eyes, to take good care of
his father, left the asylum and arrived
In Macon night before last.
In some manner the officials at tho
asylum discovered the trick young
Bankston hud played on them, and yes
terday morning seat n telegram to Mn-

Bankston was arrested and placed in
the city prison and taler in tho day
one of the attendants camo for him.
Bankston did not nppeur to bo crazy
while oonllned In this city prison, and
took great delight in telling how he
played a trick on Ills Author. The nt
tondnnt who came for Bankston cor

Bankston was not so crazy as he was
supposed to be.
