WAS INCENDIARY.
Dr. Howard Positive ThU His House
Was Muliciously Burned.
•Dr. Howard is now canvlnced that
his. house, which was totally (lentiuycd
by fire Sunday morning, was fired by an
incendiary and thinks that perhaps the
double crime of burglary and arson
was committed.
In speaking to a Telegraph reporter
yesterday Dr. Howard mid that when
he ran out of the hbuse the fire seemed
to have gained greater headway whe.-e
the pantry was located than at any
other point nml that he lelt satisfied
the pantry was first robbed of & large
number of home raised hams, lard,
flour, etc., and then net on fire. Dr.
Howard has had considerable trouble
with a certain set of negroea for Home
time and is of the opinion that some of
them tbbbed his house and fired it. He
will -put detectives to work on the ca*e
and offer a reward for the axrast and
conviction of the guilty parties.
