trustees of tho Georgia Normal and In

of (ieovglu.
Mr. Atkinson will return to Atlanta
Wednesday, where toe and Chairman
Clay of the Democratic stnto executive
committee will consult as to tho goneral
plan of the campaign.
Day after tomorrow promises to wit
ness one of the hardest fought and
most closely contested legislative pri
mary elections in the history of Bibb
county and the indications are that the
three candidate* who are elected may
well be proud of their victory ns there
never has been an election in Bibb
county when the candidates seemed
so evenly matched ns they appear to
be In the coming primary.
Of one thing, however, tho puglic feels
assured, and that is, no matter who the
lucky candidates- are Bibb's Interest,
as well os the Individuals of the entire
state, will be safe in their hands.
Out of the six candidates two have
before represented Bibb in the legisla*
turo. They are Hon. John T. Boifeull*
let and Hon, Robert Hodges, while the
other four candidates, Messrs- Joe Hall,
Hope Polhlll, Marmeduke* G. Bayne
and Hugh V. Washington are all prom
inent citizens and members of the Ma
con bar. It is u race between young
men, none of them having reached that
age known as "middle age.” If elected
Mr. BoifeulDet will be a candidate for
speaker of the house with every assur
ance of being elected to that high po
sition.
All of tho candidates are working
hard and each has strong hopes of be
ing elected. Each one is running on
his own merits, however, and no per*
sonalitlcs have been indulged in.
Another feature of tno election will
be the nomination of a candidate for
coroner. For this ofiice there are also
a number of candidates, and the one
receiving the nomination in the prima
ry will be appointed by Ordinary Wi
ley to fill the unexpired term of Coroner
Hohnctt, deceased.
Every preparation has been made for
tho election. Col. Wiley has all the
papers ready, tlio managers have been
appointed and candidates wanting 1o
send their tickets to the country pro
ducts can do so by sending them to
CoL Wiley, who will deliver them to
parties calling for election papers.
