The two wtomen'oooupy the name house, but some months ago had’a quar rel, after which they never epoke os they passed by until yesterday morn ing, when the quarrel was renewed in the hallway of the house and Lizzie struck Martha on the side of tho head near the right eye with a piece of Iron, Celling her tt> the floor, und gave her a sound drubbing with her lists. Lizzie was arrested and placed In the city prison and Dr. Sullivan summoned to repair Martha's head. He found the Hkull fractured and an eye knocked out. He did all that could he done at the lime, 'but on account of the would being badly swollen could not make a complete diagnosis of the fracture. To a Telegraph reoorter Dr. Sullivan stated that he did not think Martha would die from the effects of the wound, although he could not speak positively until ne bad -made a further examination. He said the wound was very serious, how ever, and there wos a probability of Its CAUdinK death. Lizzie was seen In the city prison by s Telegraph reporter, to whom she free ly talked about the affair. She said she and LM.vrtha had a falling but one month ago because she made her husband come out of Martha’s side of the house on one occasion. Since then che had not spoken to Martha nbr Martha to her uretdl yesterday morning, when they met In the hallway.
