Executive Department, Atlanta, Ga.,
July 28, 1894.—Whereas, The general
useembly of Georgia, at the session of
1893, passed the following three (3) acta
to mend the constitution of the state,
to-wlt: ,

An a<n to amend paragraph 1 of sec-
tlon 2 of article 6 of the constitution
of this state, so as -to increase the
number ot judges of the supreme
court of this state from three to live,
to consist of a chief justice and four
associate justices.
Section 1. lie It enacted by the gen
eral assembly of the state of Georgia,
and It la hereby enacted by authority
of the aame, that the constitution of the
state ha amended by adding after the
words "chief justice" In tho eecond
line of the flrst paragraph of section 2.
article 0 thereof the words “and four
associate Justices," In lieu of the words

tices, ' so that said paragraph when
amended Shull read: "The supremo
court shall constat of a chief justice
and four associate justices. A majority
of tho,court shall constitute a quo

this state for tho period of two months
next preceding the time of holding the
next general election.
