Chicago, Sept. 18.—There was not much doing in the whoat market today. Trad ing was confined almost entirely to the local crowd ruling quiet and uninterest ing, the range for the day being limited to He. Wheat opened' steady and practi cally featureless. Towards the close the traders became bullish and on light offer ings and good buying by prominent com mission houses, the market firmed up, closing at about the top price of the day in some sympathy with the strength In corn. December wheat opened at 5GH; sold between 5GHa% and 557tat>6; closing at oCHaSCH—Ha%c. higher than yesterday. Cash wheat was quiet. Prices were changed.
