I- J ANDERSON Sc CO., No, 316 Second Street, Macon, Us, ELECTIONS GOME GALORE One for Each Month, ‘ Including the Present, Until the New Year Rolls Around LOTS O? FUN FOR THE FUTURE Itrgflnning Willi (lie County Primary, Then Gubernatorial, Lffilalatlre and Statb House Officer*, Then Con gressional, Then Municipal. Before the year 1651 has waned four elections will have been held In Macon or In other words there will be an elec tion In each month from now until the now year, tnoluding the- present month. The first election will be the county primary on next Thursday, September 27. Then comes the legislative, guber natorial and state house officers elec tion on Ootclber 3. followed by the con gressional election on the Tuesday af ter the 11 rat Monday in November and the alderm.inle election In December. • At the county primary next Thursday all oounty officers will bo voted for ex cept ordinary, the election for this ot- doe occurring every four yeans. So far aa Is now known onlv two of the pres ent Incumbents will have opposition, and all present incumbents are candi dates for re-olectton, Mr. E. Mack Da- vlp will oppose Mr. Sam Westcott for uherlfl and Mr. Thomas W. Amason will oppose Mr. R. J. Anderson for tax receiver. This opposition will put some life lm'o the election, which without op posing candid:! tea would be a tame af fair and onlv a .mall vote would be polled. The hottest contest will be over the shorltl’s office, however, as both candidates are doing active work elec tioneering. Next comes the legislative contest and at the same time the election for gov ernor and state house officers. This election will be a lively one, os there will be Populist opposition for each of fice voted for and old Bibb will pull hensoif together and try herself Just to see how much 'Democratic majority she can roll uo when eho tries. Of course oven the Populist candidates for the legislature do not expect to be elected, but they hope to lessen the Democratic majority Just to keep up their oourago, but the untcrrlfled Democracy of Bibb county will give them the worst thrash ing they ever had. and the same might well be said of the state at large. Bi'bb will do her full share toward lnerea3- lng the 70,600 majority in this state and sustain her reputation aa the banner Democratic county. The following Is tho ticket that will be elected; For Governor* WILLIAM YATES ATKINSON. For Secretary.of State, ALL11N 40. CANDLER. For Comptroller General, WILLIAM A. WRIGHT. For Treasurer, R. U. HARDEMAN. For Attorney General, JOSEPH IM. TERRELL. For Commissioner of Agriculture, R. T. NESBITT. For Representatives From Bibb County, HOPE POLH1LL, ROBERT HODGES, JOHN T. BOIFEUILLET. *br Senate 22d Senatorial District. . N. E. HARRIS. \ On Tuesdav after the first Monday In Nfovember Hon. Charles .L. Bartlett will biK elected congressman from the Sixth congressional district and the Demo crats of Bibb wHl literally bury the Populists. who will be sickened to death In the election on October 3. In December there will be an elec tion In .the olty for six aldermen, one from etyh C |ty ward. So far no an nouncements have been made, and It Is saldynone will 'be made until after the fair. This row or may not 'be true, butjTospeetlve candidates In this com munity are fast learning to wait aa near as possible before ©lection day to announce themselves, as a means of economy, there being a number of pro fessional workers and electln deadbeats who bleed the candidates for all -they are .worth from the time of their an nouncement until election day. •Among the names that have been mentioned as nrobablo aldermanlc can didates are those of Messrs.
