The place that sets the pace. The last week of September
fairly opened the Autumn re
tailing. Merchants feel the
pulse of the season. The pub
lic feel the pulse of the stores.
During the late Summer this
store thrilled with abounding
life. Great merchandise move
ments brought quick and mag
nificent responses. All this
inspired broad and progressive
plans for the season now devel
oping. Congress was in session.
The country was scared at what
it might or might not do. But
the country is bigger than its
congress. We believe in the
country. This belief led us to send skilled buyers into the
markets of America. The results of their work appear daily.
And that’s the peculiarity of this week.
Always the imperial, metropolitan, cosmopolitan
store of the South. Each day adds to its greatness, ,
grandness and completeness, The novelties were col
lected nnd selected with the freedom that is created
by the confidence of our friends, the Public, shown in
in every courageous and wise movement we make.
The styles, materials, patterns and colors are superb,
and away under the last year prices for anything like
equal qualities. Fall favorites are fast fixed. You’d
know it by the heaped counters all around. Choosing
will never be easier than now, when varieties, quanti
ties, sizes—everything—are at their best.
