The starry flag of our country, surmounted by a streamer Inscribed with the wools, "Worth Cmlnty Fair," fluttered In tho breezo and tho modest little fair grounds were fairly levinlng with people from all sec tions ot tho adjoining counties. Inno cent amusements, such as foot races, greasy pole climbing, etc., amused out siders, whilst lustdo tho building vis itors were Interesting tUeuuclves by Inspecting dm various exhibits, Ouo of the finest exhibits of agricul tural products was that ot Cupt. J. 0. Mot'haul of Poulau. In tho collection wen- thirteen varieties of corn, thirteen varieties of cow peas, Ilf teen varieties of forage, haled and nicely cured, live Varieties of sweet potatoes, live varie ties of sugarcane, besides beets, rye, ebufas, rice, etc. Mr. W. XI. Mcl’liaul exhibited corn, cotton, hay, rice, etc. Mr. W. TV. Monk of Sumner had on exhibition six varieties of corn, two of sweet potatoes, two of pcao, alx of ap ples, two of pears and rice, besides bums, bauou, meal, etc. A most Interesting and complete ag ricultural exhibit was mule by Mr. James M. Watson, tho proprietor of a ‘‘one-horse farm." This /arm was pur chased and paid for by premiums won at different fairs. Mr. Watson showed seven varieties of corn, thirteen ot for age, Itvo of sweet potatoes, thirteen of peas, together with rlco and ground- peua. This exhibit Is not only highly creditable as to variety, hut Is first lu quality. Ono of the homlsamcwt exhibits la that ot Dr. J. F. Wilson, proprietor of the Ihney Park Nursery and Keys tone Fruit Company. The doctor Is a leading spirit In all such matters, and with en ergy and enterprise scores a success In sit his undertakings. He has aesoclaited with him Mad. Nagtcy, a capitalist of Pittsburg, Pa., who himself Is an enthu siastic worker Tills company ban on exhibition n floe collection lit rare planus, flowers, rows. etc. These were most tastily arranged In pyramidal form, and triads « magnificent center- piece for the whole display, arresting the attention of vtettom at once on en tering the building. Tlilo enterprising and rollufblo Arm cultivate all the host end loading varieties of trees, vine#, plants, and shrubbery adapted to that rrtrion of the state. Besides the floral display, this company showed lino pear*, apples, grapes, pecans, English wnlrroK wines, ste„ all of which wore finest to quality. Another very Interesting exhibit was that of Cant. Harrell, and the cotton season now on hand keeps our buyers busy. Crops In Dodge were never hotter. The Bush Bros, have closed their Ice factory for 'the season after another prosperous year. They are enterprising young -men and have mot with suc cess.
