He Was Dlcharged by the Tombs Po lice' Justlcei New York, Oct. 21.—Carl Browne, the leader o£ the “hobos” who succeeded "General” Coxey as commander of the industrial army, who was arrested on Saturday bn Wall street, was discharge ed by Justice Ryan In tho Tombs police court today. Detective Rogers of the central office charged Browne wtlth ob structing Wall street, causing a crowd ,tb ooHect, and refusing to go away •when so ordered. 'Browne’s followers stood n the steps while the fate of their leader was being decided. They were not permitted to enter the court room, and so missed the general's oration. He said: “My companions and myaelf stopped by Washington’s statue, and were or dered to move on. We did so. While on the - way down the street, a messen ger. whom I had sent to the poetofllce, overtook me and handed me a letter. I stopped to read It, and naturally n crowd collected; they knew who I was, The officer. Instead of making the crowd move on. arrested me. I think It la an outrage.’’ Justice Ryan made no comment, but wrote "Discharged” on, ithe affidavit and said: “You may go.” Browne left the court room, Joined his army encamped on the steps, and pro ceeded up town. .... - NEW YORK’S REGISTRATION. Gains and Losses Shown By tho Dif ferent Cities. Elmira, Oct. 21.—Tho registration In Elmira city Is 0,031, an Increase of 1,303 over that of 1803 and of 023 over that of 1802. Troy, OcL 21.—The four days of reg istration In Troy Just completed shows a total of 14,070 names, against 15,101 last full. Tho Republican wards show- gains of 30(1 and tho Democratic wards have fallen off 527. The total registration In Cohoes Is G,05S, against 4,600 last fall. Albany, Oet. 21.—The total registra tion In this city was 23,124, a falling off of 300 as compared with last fall. Poughkeepsie, Oet 21.—The regis tration In this city this year Is tho largest ever made at any election. Tho total for the four days is 0,044, agalust 5,431 in 1803. Lockport, Oot. 21.—The total regis tration for this city 1b 3,823, an Increase of nearly 100 over last year. NATURAL GAS EXPLOSION, Greenfleld, Ind., Oct. 21.—Yesterday, while several gas drillers were engaged in tubing a strong gas belonging to tho Citizens’ National Gas Company of KlielbyvlUe, six miles south ot here, a terrillo explosion occurred. A by stander struck a match thirty feet from the derrick, which Ignited the escaping gas, completely destroying the rigging and dangerously burning three men. The injured are: Martin Archibald, aged 30, married, faco and head burned. Flute Montrose, aged 32, light burns the arms. George Morehcad, aged 33, married, badly lmmed about the head. James Morehcad, aged 30, face ami hands burned. Edgar Tyner, aged 35, face burned. Children will not develop uniformly unless they got sufficient nourishment. They will bo thin, wepk, hollow-chested.
