THE jscACOJST •lEi.EOHAPH: SUNDAY MORNING. NOVEMBER 4, 1894.
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
And an early love is generally formed for one’s home- particularly when it is neatly and elegantly furnished. Even the workingman’s home can be
made luxuriously attractive nowadays. If people only knew how cheaply this can be done, there would be far more comfortable homes and less unpleas
antness. We have prices now so low that we offer to furnish a workingman’s house throughout for a sum of money that, ten years ago, would not even
furnish a parlor. We do not mean with poor rickety furniture, but with good, strong, sound, reliable articles that combine an elegant appearance with
luxurious comfort. An inspection before you buy elsewhere will save you money.

Tuesday, the Ctb, tbo election for con-
gresemen In Georgia will be held, and
In no district in the state is it more
necessary for the Democrats to arouse
themselves mul poll tbeir full vote tlmn
right hero in tbe Sixth district.
Don. Charles L. Harriett, tbo Demo
cratic nominee for congressman, la pre
eminently tbo man for tbo place, but
everybody knows Charley Harriett and
It 16 needless lo tell the people what
they already knbw. Every Democrat
wants to vole for hint and uvery Dem
ocrat intends to vote for him, but tbo
trouble is that on election day they do
not take tbe troublo to go to tbo polls
and cast tbeir ballots. This lias al
ways been the case in Ililio county,
and It Is for no other reason than tbat
tve havo been without any opposition
worth mentioning for so long that
more than 50 per cent, of the
voters In the county stay away
from the polls on election day
and expect tbe other 50 per corn,
lo save the country from the enemy.
The last clecUon, however, has clearly
demonstrated that this is tt dangerous
custom and ouo that threaten* to work
great iDjury to the Democratic party
while It materially alds’thb Populists
an^glve* then hope.
In the-Sjlxth district there aro several
counties thit-Jjavo Populist .majorities
or. more correctly speaking, can, by
tbo Populists and KcpubUcaus voting
together, g'.ve-Populist majorlUes, and
as they aro encouraged by the gain
niado In the last election, 'hey w.U ex
ert every effort in Tuesday's election
to Increase thejr majorlUes so t3 to
offset the Democrats majorities ,n
other counties. These facts no one can
dispute, and with a full unowledgo of
them It ts not believed tnut the Dem
ocrats of Bibb county will sit with
their bauds folded, ltibb's majority
will decide the electlou, and In order
to make the election certalu every qual
ified voter iu the county should cast
Ids ballot for lion. Chandra. Darilclt.
Every Democrat should make It his
duty to urge ui>on his neighbors and
friends the Importanco of voting on
Tuesday, as there aro many pooplo
who, through lack of Interest hi poli
ties, will not go to tho polls unless
urged to do so.
Bibb cun and should give Bartlett
5,000 majority. This -nnjoriiy would
make tils election absolutely certain,
but anything less would lie a risk. In
order to give this majority it will bo
necessary for every man 'u tho county
who possibly con to go to tho polls on
Tuesday and vote. The Bartlett Unm-
piign i 'lull Is doing faithful work, but
it needs tho co-operation of every Dem
ocrat lu the county to make Us work
tho more effective. Committees Uavo
been appointed to canvas tho city, but
It may Ik- possible they will not be able
lo see every man who can vote, amt
It Is therefore Incumbent upon every
Democrat to urge Ids friends to voto
■nd work for Charley Bartlett.
One of the most Interesting exhibits
now going on at the fair la the tbooth
occuptde jointly by the Georgia. Cotton
Olt Company and tho N. K. Fatrbank
Company, both branches af the Ameri
can Cotton Oil Company.
The Georgia Cotton Oil Company are
making a display of their various prod
ucts. showing the cotton seed first, then
the hulls, meal. 1 Inters and the differ
ent grades of oil hi the cruder and re
fined states. The hulls and emcal aro
neatly packed In balca for use ai cattle
food, and farmers and ethers interested
In raising oattle should not fall to
visit this exhibit. They claim that
cotton seed hulls and meal, mixed In
a proportion of SO pounds of hulls and
20 pounds of meal, makes the best and
cheapest cattle food In the world.
The N. K. Falrbank Company have
a graduate from the Philadelphia Cook
ing School, who Is a practical cooking
teacher, assisted by a competent chef,
and they are engaged lu serving de
licious cokes, doughnuts and other
dainties prepared and cooked with
"Cottoiene.” These articles aro freely
given to all visitors and receive the
warmest praise. ■ The "Cottolene” Is
shown In t handsome pyramid made
from •the various sired packages In
which It Is packed, suoh at three, five
and ten-pound pails, twenty-pound
buckets and eighty-pound tubs.
Hundreds of people throng the booth
and are loud In their raise of "Cotto-
lone" as a frying and shortening me
dium. This production deserves the
support of the Southern people, as ev
ery dollar spent In “Cottolene" en
hances the value of the. cotton seed oil
and leaves so much tmoro money in the
South. No visitor should leave the
fair without testing the merits of "Cot
tolene."

Ohly About Forty Voters Registered
Yesterday.
As announced lu the Telegraph yes-
terduy morning, the rogistmtioD books
for the reg’.stration of voters in tho
approaching municipal election were
opened at tho city ball at 7 o'clock yes
terday morning.
The first person to register was L.
M. Jones of tfie fire department. At
Intervals throughout tho day voters
would drop In and register, but they
were mostly those who had business
nt the city hall. When the books closed
la«t night about forty had put their
names on tho book. This seems rather
a slow start when it Is remembered
that there are only, twelve days in
which tho registration books will be
kept open. The books will only be
kept open on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Saturdays.

An Old Negro Man i« Charged With

ing counterfeit money.
'Montgomery was arrested on com*
plaint lodged by a store keeper near
the Acme brewery and a spurious dol
lar was found on his person. The dol
lar was a poof counterfeit and would
hardly bo taken by any one who ever
saw a good dollar.
