CHARGED WITH BURGLARY.
Two Negroes from, Chauncey in Dodge
County Jail.
Eastman. Nov. 7.—(Sneclal).—Wlllllam
Thbroas and Seth Spivey, both negroes,
i were arrested on suspicion of being con
neeted with the burglary and the blow,
ing open of the safes ot Owen K. Bush
and the railroad and express agent at
Ohanmeey fast week. They were given
n (preliminary trial before Judge Mc
Cormick at Chauncey and were bound
trver under bonds of $1,000 each. They
ore- both in rail ant Eastman. The rob
bery was a bold ome. about $3,000 was
stolen. It is believed that there Is a
gang of thieves at or near Chauncey
who perpetrated this villainy. The ne
gro Thomas le a great boaster. He
claims tt be a United Stales detective
and organiser of societies. He leaves
home frequently and returns with plen
ty of money. The people',believe he has
been engaged in nefarious schemes and
transactions.

Tweed, Ga„ Nov. 7.—(Special.)—Tho
weather during the past week has been
delightful, but today It has turned
warm and a copious rain fell, making
the farmers dubious as to their sugar
cane, which has caused several to take
up their seed and also begin to grind.
•Rev. John Wilkes has been off on a
religious tour In Montgomery and Tatt
nall counties. Ho had excellent meet
ings and made several accessions.
Col. Jim Hicks of Dublin was In at
tendance on Justice court last Saturday
at Flat Rock district. The, colonel
looked pleasing and smiled affably
when asked to solve a legal problem.
Rev. Jacob Barber has been suffer
ing from chills and fever.
Mr. James Branch has purchased the
old Jack Allen place from Charles
Brantley of Dublin, and Is now making
preparations to build and move on It.
