LIVERPOOL.
to 6lft—lft cent* higher thnn yesterday.
There was a good deman for cash lots
sales averaging ft a cent better than yes
terday.
Corn.—To corn trade was a little bet
ter t.-.an of late, but by no means heavy.
Fluctuations were mainly In sympathy
with those of wheat, the advance, how
ever, not being so radical. May corn
opened at 50ft, sold between BOftaft, ad
vanced to 50ft and. closed at 60ft—ft a
cent higher then yesterday. Cash corn
was In good demand and steady.
Oafs.—With on extremely light trade
oats advanced moderately because of tho
strength In wheat. The business did not
present any noteworthy features. A gain
over yesterday of ft of a cent was shown
in May at tho close. Cash oats were firm
and ft of a ent higher.
Provisions.—Tho speculative element in
provisions was stunned by the enormous
receipts of hogs today. Western receiving
stations have n total fr*‘sh supply of n»;.-
000. of which Chicago received 57,000. The
prices at the yards were weak and lowex
and provisions naturally Inclined down
ward. The advancing trend of grate
caved the market, however, and eventual
ly resulted in & recovery, the close show-
ing January pork and lard In tho same
position they were at the end of yester
day’s session, with January ribs Eft centt
higher.
